This week’s Dota 2 patch has arrived bringing the long awaited Team Matchmaking system which comes with its own public rating system, on top of that we also have a large number of bug fixes and other changes. As always, you can view the full changelog here.

UI Updates
We have a bunch of UI updates in this patch.
Language Settings
When queuing for a match it is now possible to select between three different languages. You will be matched with other players who have selected that language.
Team Matchmaking
The team matchmaking system has arrived along with some updates to the main team management UI.
“The Teams feature is designed for groups of five players who want to compete against other groups of five in practice lobbies, and competitive settings like leagues, tournaments and Team Matchmaking.
For professional gaming organizations, an administrator slot is provided for management purposes, and should be held by the Team’s owner.
Whenever the five members of your Team are in a lobby together, your Team will be detected. Your Team’s information will be displayed in-game, and Team statistics will be collected from the match.
When participating in Team Matchmaking your Team will be rated based on performance against other Teams.”
The team is now broken up into two parts, a set of players and an admin/manager. The manager can sit in the admin position and not be part of the team if they desire.
At any time the manager can choose to add himself/herself to the player roster.
Once the team has a minimum of five players, it will be possible to play in the team matchmaking system.
The player profile has been updated with a team tab, from there you’ll be able to see that player’s team and the team’s ranking.
Other Changes
When the courier has no items on it and you give it an order to deliver items, you’ll be presented with an error instead.

Unreleased UI Updates
Progress on the unreleased in game guide UI continues.
In Game Guide UI
The in game guide UI now has support for showing the ability icons and descriptions, as well as an improved look to the skill order UI.
The guide system is also integrated into the level up ability selector as well.

There are now references to a “world map”, which at a glance looks like it will be used for the tutorial system to display the tutorials in a campaign like order.
